Stop letting your financial dreams and desires die

by - January 16, 2017

While I was on holiday, sitting on a beautiful balcony overlooking the shimmering ocean I was inspired to share something about financial dreams.

Then I started thinking about all the rich women and two came to mind: Oprah Winfrey and Martha Stewart.

When Oprah and Martha made their fortunes, it was not from having the best ideas. Martha baked cookies and Oprah gave women a platform to do what they do best and that is to talk... talk about their feelings and emotions.

They took something basic and made it the best, then grew it. That’s it. There was no magic formula required – I mean nothing that couldn’t have been done by you or me.

Every time I read their stories and countless other women who have turned their lives around, I know that if these women can do it, so can we all.  It also warms my heart to think about all the other women who, like me, want to make a difference while leading a healthy and wealthy life.

But sadly many of us keep settling for less instead of asking for more, shrinking to fit rather than playing full out, clinging to safety to avoid taking the leap.  We also dream of accumulating wealth without the risks, without the sacrifices, without the delayed gratifications necessary.

We want the rewards and not the struggles. We want the results and not the process. And unfortunately life doesn’t work that way.

Think about it, people who enjoy the daily struggles of a gym are the ones with "summer bodies" every single day.

And so it is with financial freedom. You might enjoy spending money but if you don't enjoy making it, you will spend the rest of your life being broke, always wanting and always needing. And from my personal experience, you don’t need a lot of action to succeed financially. You just need aligned action.

Both Oprah and Martha were aligned in their action. Oprah can't stop talking and Martha enjoys cooking. That's how they aligned. And that helped them to do the right things that enabled them to accumulate their wealth.

And so, if you are tired of being broke and desire to have your needs met and have your financial life feel sustainable and debt free, I encourage you to take action on something you’ve been thinking about but haven’t done anything about yet.

If you have a business idea or an invention or a book idea that has the potential to bring you the wealth you desire, go for it. If it's baking, then bake away. Just don't sit with your talents and gifts and hope things will just change.  Even one small step like making a phone call to a financial advisor or researching how investments work or reading a financial book is a great start.

Great successes in life never just happen. They are always a result of action.

Life can be fun, facinating, spontaneous, joyful and fulfilling but you have to want it and you have to be willing to have it. It always amazes me when someone tells me exactly what they want but are not willing to have it.

And then take acting. When you take action you give yourself permission to move in the direction of your wealth goals.

So, if the desire to achieve financial freedom is there, then the way to make it a reality is also there. You just need to tap into it. This things don't just happen you know.

Let go of those false senses of self you've picked up along the way and allow your essence, the unstoppable part of you, to shine.
And stop letting your financial dreams and desires die. And remember that this year can be different and you can achieve your financial goals.

All the best!

So what are you ready to shift or let go of entirely this year to reach your goals?
